Epilogue

Speranța Rădulescu

During the past several years, it appears that manele have begun to decrease in popularity, evolve, and yield to new popular music genres. It is likely that this will be even more pronounced in the years ahead, probably in ways that are as yet unimaginable. The epilogue, which has taken shape as the final step in the preparation of this volume, includes commentary on the latest developments of manele as both cultural and social discourse.
